The client is an Indian FSI conglomerate that provides corporate and retail customers with various banking products and financial services. They were looking to increase their credit card users and their online applications through various offers, including a co-branded credit card service alongside India’s largest airport infrastructure company.

The client wanted to create a seamless co-branded journey for their joint credit card offering. They needed to extend their existing onboarding process with a user-friendly design that fit both brands. The solution involved integrating the bank’s onboarding service with the partner’s UI/UX. This new setup improved conversion rates and increased application completions by showcasing both brands and the trust they represent.

Due to the success of this platform, the bank with Niveus, has developed this kind of co-branded user experience with two more partners, while many more partners are in the pipeline who are planning to offer co-branded cards with the bank.

The Challenge

Our client encountered these key areas for improvement in their credit card application process:

  • Leverage Partner’s Brand Trust: Because the present onboarding process did not have the co-branding experience, they were not able to fully utilize the trust the potential customer has in the airport infrastructure partner brand. 
  • Opportunity to Improve Conversion Rates: Although users visited the online application platform, there was potential to streamline the process to increase the number of completed applications by showcasing the partner’s brand.

Our Solution

The client wanted a UI/UX that showcased the partner’s brand as well. To achieve this, we proposed integrating the co-branded UI/UX as a submodule within the bank’s app. The user journey initiates on the partner’s app (airport infrastructure company), where the user fills in basic details and then is redirected to the co-branded UI/UX.

This solution ensured the desired co-branded user experience while incorporating the bank’s credit card application process. By using the submodule approach, we enabled multiple applications to run simultaneously on one platform, each with its own codebase. This allowed for smooth integration with minimal changes, leveraging the bank’s existing process while aligning with the partner’s branding.
